Rafael Nadal changes sport.
Rafael Nadal (36) ventures into new waters. The 22-time Grand Slam winner is participating with his own team in the first all-electric racing boat championship, as the E1 series has announced.
“I am very happy to be involved in a project like E1, which focuses on sustainability and will have a positive impact on society as a whole,” the tennis player said in a statement.
The championship is scheduled to start later this year. Nadal’s boot has already been presented. His logo, a bull, and the signature of the tennis star are emblazoned on it. It is colored in a yellow-orange gradient.
Nadal isn’t the only celebrity athlete set to feature in E1. Formula 1 driver Sergio Pérez (32) is also at the start with a team. (bir)
