Andri Ragettli wins his home World Cup at the Laax Open.
Ski freestyler Andri Ragettli wins the home world cup at the Laax Open. In slopestyle, the 24-year-old clearly beats American Alexander Hall and Norwegian Birk Ruud.
The Flimser showed a strong first run, which was rated with 79.08 points. Because the weather got worse for the second run, both Olympic champion Hall and Ruud, who had won in his last four participations in slopestyle competitions, had no chance of winning.
8th place for Nicolas Huber
Nicolas Huber achieved 8th place in the slopestyle final of the snowboarders at the Laax Open. The 28-year-old from the canton of Zurich risked everything in the second run after a solid first run (7th) and fell. The 2017 World Cup runner-up finished the qualification in sixth place.
Huber was the only Swiss in the final of the top twelve, with Finn Rene Rinnekangas not competing. The Norwegian Marcus Kleveland won ahead of the American Dusty Henricksen and the Swede Sven Thorgren.
All Swiss women were eliminated in the qualification. Zoi Sadowski Synnott from New Zealand achieved the highest number of points in the final. The other places on the podium went to Brit Mia Brookes and Austrian Anna Gassner. (SDA)
