First Lauberhorn training
Rogentin fastest in Wengen – Feuz is also convincing
Good news: The first downhill training session on the Lauberhorn was held. Stefan Rogentin is the fastest, but Beat Feuz can also convince.
1/4
Fastest in the 1st Lauberhorn training session: Stefan Rogentin.
“This week will be a big fight,” said FIS race director Markus Waldner on Monday. What is meant are the Lauberhorn races (Super-G on Friday, downhill on Saturday, slalom on Sunday), which is trembling because of the predicted precipitation from the weather.
The good news: The 1st downhill training on Tuesday could take place! This is important because the regulations stipulate that at least one training session must be held before a descent. And because the weather forecast for Wednesday and Thursday is not particularly promising, the training takes a lot of pressure from the organization. It was not (yet) enough for a start from the top.
Rogentin fastest – Feuz is also convincing
Will there be Swiss festivals? It is the last time on the prestigious slope for the retiring and triple Lauberhorn winner Beat Feuz (35). In training, the fourth fastest time jumps out.
Fastest on Tuesday: Stefan Rogentin (28)! The Grisons skis down the (actually) longest descent in the world in 1:46.40 minutes.

Even if the training results should be taken with a pinch of salt – since goal errors are not taken into account – they still show how well the drivers find their way around the slopes. And from a Swiss point of view one can hope!
The efforts of organizing the route are paying off, as Beat Feuz says to Blick after the training session: “If there were no more fresh snow, we would have a brilliant slope by the end of the week. But now we have to wait and see.” The good weather – better than announced – on Tuesday should help the slope again. Marco Odermatt: “I’d love to stay like this! But unfortunately it doesn’t…»
For the fastest in training, Stefan Rogentin, there is little to complain about: “I’ll watch the ride again, but a lot has already worked out.” (mou/MWP)
