“These are mini-playoffs”
SCB sports director heats double duel against Davos
Now let’s get down to business. National League qualifying is entering the home straight. With explosive double duels that can be groundbreaking in the fight for the playoff places.

Andrew Ebbett says with a laugh: “Schedule boss Willy Vögtlin has done a good job. That will be funny.” The SCB sports director is aiming for the double round, in which several opponents meet in back and forth games. The course can be set on the “12-point weekend”.

“These are mini-playoffs,” says Ebbett. The starting position is explosive for his team. The SCB is only one point below the playoff line, but has three games more on their account than their direct competitor Davos. If the Bernese lose in the direct duels, the HCD could break away. “Our coach doesn’t like it when you look at the table. He tells the players that they should take care of what they can control themselves,” explains the 40-year-old.
Most recently, however, SCB had “shot itself in the foot”, as coach Toni Söderholm said after the bankruptcy at Ajoie. It was the third loss in a row for the Bernese, who became the league’s shooting gallery (19 goals conceded in 3 games) after having previously looked solid defensively.
Ebbett is looking for a foreign defense attorney
“That was extremely surprising. We neglected to care for the details. But I think it only needs minor adjustments, »says Ebbett, who is looking for a foreign defender because three defenders are missing with Gélinas, Loeffel and Henauer injured.

The Canadian is “very happy” with Söderholm, who replaced Johan Lundskog in November. The Finn brought “calm and stability”. SCB will also need them against Davos. HCD made a strong impression in Lugano (4-0) in the first game after the split from Christian Wohlwend under the Waltteri Immonen/Glen Metropolitan duo. Above all the storm Stransky/Corvi/Ambühl, who scored all the goals.
