Strong performance by Sebastian Stalder … (archive image)
In mid-December, Stalder had already excelled in the same discipline in eighth place in Le Grand-Bornand, France. In Ruhpolding, the Swiss now doubles.
Stalder made two errors while shooting. Niklas Hartweg, the second eligible Swiss, has three shooting errors – in the end he finishes in 17th place. The 22-year-old from Schwyz had to skip the relay on Saturday due to illness and was therefore not in top form.
Victory once again goes to Johannes Thingnes Bö – it is the Norwegian’s ninth success in the twelfth individual race. Overall, this is Bö’s 61st triumph at this level. Despite three penalties, the five-time Olympic champion distanced himself from his compatriot Vetle Christiansen by 20 seconds. They are followed by two more Norwegians, Sturla Holm Laegreid and Tarjei Bö (Thingne’s brother). (SDA)
