Ski star Feller talks about his Hirscher freak out
They used to be teammates, today Austria’s ski ace Manuel Feller would prefer not to answer any more questions about Marcel Hirscher.

For years, the ski nation of Austria was spoiled by success in the era of Marcel Hirscher (33). In the current World Cup season, however, the Austrian technicians are still waiting for their first victory. Manuel Feller (30), in second place, missed it three times by a hair’s breadth.
No tailor-made season so far, but the Ösi bear market caused a lot of conversation at the start of the World Cup. When asked about Hirscher, Feller reacted annoyed in October: “First I have to explain how good he is. Then how shit we are without him. And now also about what kind of skis he has. I really like him. But the questions about him all the time, they’re annoying.”
Mutual respect
Now the two-time World Cup winner explains to Servus TV that he has “no problem with Marcel”. The two always got along well and Feller had enormous respect for the eight-time overall World Cup winner. “I think he has a lot of respect for me too.” Only the questions he always had to answer about him would annoy him, Feller repeats again.
Feller is currently struggling with back problems, which is why he has to cut back on training. “I’m a racing sow, I haven’t forgotten anything because of less training.” Big words! In Adelboden this was enough for fourth place. But all of Austria would thank him if the first win of the season finally came out. The next opportunity to do so is in the Lauberhorn slalom on Sunday.
