The future scenarios of the Swiss League
So Chur, Arosa or Martigny can climb
The battered Swiss League should one day consist of 12 teams again. Therefore, the promotion scenarios for the teams from the MyHockey League have been redefined.

Does EHC Chur dare to jump into the Swiss League? The various scenarios for this have now been adjusted.
Due to Langenthal’s voluntary relegation, the Swiss League will currently consist of nine teams in the coming season. In addition, the future of EHC Winterthur, who basically wants to stay there, and the Ticino Rockets is still in the balance. For them, the deadline for deciding whether to remain in the Swiss League or voluntarily relegate to the MyHockey League has been extended by two weeks to February 15.
In order to prevent any club from the MyHockey League from being promoted and the Swiss League only having eight or even seven teams, the following (promotion) scenarios have been defined with immediate effect (until the Swiss League consists of 12 clubs):
The Swiss League has 9 (or eventually 10) clubs
- Direct promotion of a team entitled to promotion that has reached at least the semi-finals of the MyHockey League.
- If two teams eligible for promotion are in the final of the MyHockey League, both may be promoted directly.
The Swiss League has fewer than 9 clubs
- Direct promotion of two teams entitled to promotion that have reached at least the quarter-finals of the MyHockey League.
The Swiss League has (in the future) 11 clubs
- Direct promotion of a team entitled to promotion that has reached at least the semi-finals of the MyHockey League.
As soon as the Swiss League has 12 clubs
- Direct relegation of the last placed in the Swiss League
- Direct promotion of the MyHockey League champion if eligible.
- If the champion cannot be promoted, there is no relegation from the Swiss League.
Now the MyHockey League clubs Chur, Arosa and Martigny, who have submitted an application for promotion but can withdraw it by the end of February, know the conditions under which they can be promoted. Whether they want to seize this opportunity is still an open question.
