After racist fan calls
Sports court blocks Lazio Roma fan curve
After racist fan shouts at the away game against Lecce, Lazio Roma are punished. The league sports court blocks the local “Curva Nord” fan curve for the upcoming game against Empoli.
The “Curva Nord” in the Olympic Stadium in Rome will remain closed in the upcoming game.
During Lazio’s 2-1 defeat in Lecce, referee Livio Marinelli interrupted the game because of insults to the dark-skinned Lecce players Samuel Umtiti and Lameck Banda. After the game, Umtiti left the field in tears. It wasn’t the first time that the Roman fans attracted attention with racist slogans.
Serie A law enforcement are also investigating last Wednesday’s game between Inter Milan and Napoli for possible racist remarks. These are said to have been called out by the away fans from Naples in the direction of Inter striker Romelu Lukaku. (SDA)
