That’s the way it goes: Yann Sommer is moving from Gladbach to Bayern.

Now it’s fixed! Yann Sommer (34) moves to Bayern Munich after weeks of back and forth. Our national goalie replaces the injured Manuel Neuer (36) and could be between the posts against Leipzig on Friday.
The majority of Blick readers are happy about the change. This is not only confirmed in the comment columns, but also in a look vote. 60 percent of over 17,000 votes (as of 5 p.m.) believe that Sommer has earned the move to a top club. Around eleven percent are unsure. 29 percent of the readers opted for the option “Summer is a Gladbach legend and should have stayed”.
“Summer gilded his career”
«A great thing for summer. He can now become German champion, which is actually only a matter of form. In addition, Bayern are still in the cup and the icing on the cake will be the games against PSG in the Champions League. If he plays the way people are used to, Neuer will have a hard time becoming number one again. And Sommer will deliver because he has an even stronger defense in front of him, »reader Thomas Pfister sums up the change.
Andre Gobeli is also convinced that the transfer is a good decision. “That is the merit of the able. I think Sommer will gild his career in Bavaria!” Reader Ernst Schröder writes: “Bravo Yann! The Bayern Munich ‘train’ probably only stops once in a lifetime at Sommer station. Who has the chance to play at what is probably the best, most financially sound club in the world?”
“It’s all about the money here”
Only a small part of the community dislikes the change. Two reasons are given most frequently: the fact that Sommer is moving to the unpopular Bayern, and Manuel Neuer. Roger Tross writes, for example: «Somehow it’s understandable. But I still think it’s a shame that such a great goalkeeper decides for Bayern – a very unsympathetic club.”
Reader Walter Hegglin also does not believe in a great career at Bayern. “The worst decision Sommer could have made. Anyone who thinks that Sommer has a chance against Neuer in terms of a regular place is just a dreamer. Whether Neuer is better or not – it is 100 percent set! Sommer will play to the maximum if Neuer is injured. It’s all about the money here.”
Now it is your turn! What do you think of Sommer’s move? write us in the comment column.
