Final runner Serafin Wiestner awarded a medal in the final standing shooting. While the Swede Anton Ivarsson, who was level with him, did not miss a shot, the Graubünden veteran made several mistakes and even had to go into the penalty loop. So Sweden and not Switzerland secured the bronze medal behind Germany. Victory went dominantly to the Norwegian team with a total of just two penalties.
Lena Häcki-Gross and Sebastian Stalder brought Switzerland close to the podium with two clean shootings each. Previously, the start runner Lea Meier had kept the gap to the top within limits.
In the afternoon, Switzerland will have their last chance for a medal at their home event in the single-mixed relay. At the start, Amy Baserga/Niklas Hartweg is a duo that has been tried and tested in the World Cup. For the two it will be the first EM in Graubünden. Like Häcki-Gross, Stalder and Wiestner, they had given priority to preparing for the World Championships in Oberhof in the last few days. (SDA/sme)
