Fourth place in Ruhpolding
The Swiss biathlon relay narrowly missed the podium
The Swiss women’s relay shows a strong performance at the Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding. Amy Baserga, Aita Gasparin, Elisa Gasparin and Lena Häcki-Gross placed fourth.
Lena Häcki-Gross allowed one spare too many in the final standing shooting.
A podium place was within reach for the quartet. Final skier Lena Häcki-Gross made one spare too many in the final standing shooting.
The Swiss finished just under three seconds behind the victorious Norwegians, hosts Germany and Italy on the podium – which is equivalent to the best result of the season.
France and Sweden, the winners of the first two relay races this winter, disappointed with ranks 6 and 7. At half-time the French were still clearly in the lead. (SDA)
