Pius Schwizer on Vancouver de Lanlore is the best Swiss in the GP of the CSI Basel in ninth place.
Among the 14 participants in the jump-off of the Grand Prix at the CSI Basel are two Swiss, Pius Schwizer and Alain Jufer. The course is airy and fast-paced. Schwizer starts as the third rider, both riders in front of him remained flawless. But that’s not the case for the veteran, he concedes a knockdown on Vancouver de Lanlore and finishes the GP in 9th place. A pole also falls for Jufer and Dante, he ends up in 11th place.
The GP of the CSI Basel is won after Max Kühner canceled two tournaments due to Corona. The Austrian set a time on the gelding Eic Cooley Jump the Q that no competitor can beat. This brings him prize money of 66,000 francs. 34 hundredths behind him is the German Gerrit Nieberg ahead of his compatriot Christian Ahlmann with twelve hundredths behind him.
And the other Swiss? With only one down each, Martin Fuchs with Commissar Pezi ended up in 18th place, Steve Guerdat with Double Jeu d’Honvault in 22nd place 28-year-old fifteenth and could have qualified for Sunday’s World Cup competition. (NA)
