Tim Braillard in action. Can he shine with the Nati at the home World Cup?
Today we start with the floorball world championships in Zurich and Winterthur! The floorball world is visiting Switzerland until November 13th. At 1.30 p.m. the tournament will open in the Swiss Life Arena in the Czech Republic and Latvia. After the opening ceremony, Switzerland will take on Norway in the tournament (5:30 p.m.). In Winterthur, fans can look forward to defending champions Sweden taking on Germany (12:00 noon) before Finland meet Slovakia (3:00 p.m.). From a Swiss point of view, the highlight of the group phase will be on Sunday (2 p.m.) when the national team duels against Finland for Group A victory.
The new home of the ZSC Lions in Zurich-Altstetten holds 11,000 spectators, in Winterthur there are 2,000. A hot atmosphere can be expected. The organizers expected a total of 150,000 spectators. A goal that is well on the way to being achieved. There are only a few tickets left for some games. The final is already sold out.
Favorites for the title are the usual suspects from Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland. In the last eight events, Finland and Sweden have always won the gold medal among themselves. (smi)
