The Swiss biathletes go away empty-handed in their second competition at the home European Championships in Lenzerheide. In the sprint over 7.5 km skating, Susanna Meinen was classified as the best local in 27th place.

The 30-year-old from Bern, who cleared nine of the ten targets, is competing in the lower-class IBU Cup this season, like most of the European Championship participants, and not in the World Cup. Meinen lost a minute and a half to the victorious Ukrainian Anastasia Merkuschina. The European Champion shot twice without a single penalty and finally prevailed by a mere 0.5 seconds ahead of Tilda Johansson of Sweden.
