season 7 of Selling Sunset took us on another tour of the most spectacular homes in all of Los Angeles — this time stopping by one of the city’s most unique properties:
If you’re not familiar with John Lautner’s iconic Beverly Crest mansion, or with the estate’s flamboyant owner, then you’re definitely missing out.
This 1963-built mansion is an architectural gem and one of Hollywood’s best-kept secrets. Here's all there is to know about the Selling Sunset-featured house where the O Group celebrated their 10th anniversary.
We’ll also tell you a little bit about its eccentric owner, the unique 11,000-square-foot nightclub, and all the high-profile movies filmed at the Sheats-Goldstein residence over the years.

Built between 1961 and 1963, the concrete house was built into the sandstone ledge of a hill, as a testament to the connection between man and nature.

His work wasn't limited to the architecture of the house; Lautner also designed the interiors, the windows, lighting systems, all the furniture and details.

Set in the Beverly Crest neighborhood of LA, the Sheats-Goldstein residence has some of the best views money can buy.

The property's flamboyant owner, James F. Goldstein, a businessman, real estate investor, and fashion designer, acquired the property in 1972.
Goldstein worked closely with Lautner to create the house, and invested millions into it. In 2021, Kanye West (aka Ye) enlisted Goldstein to help him design his new Malibu mansion & make it more like the Goldstein Residence.

James Goldstein’s unique house is one of the most popular filming locations in Los Angeles, for obvious reasons.
The property's most famous movie role was in the The Big Lebowski, where it was the home of adult film producer Jackie Treehorn, which earned it the moniker of ‘the Big Lebowski house’.
It’s been featured in a long list of other movies like Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (2003), Star Time (1992), and Bandits (2001, starring Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, and Cate Blanchett).
It also served as the backdrop in several music videos, including Doja Cat’s Say So, Nelly’s The Fix, Babyface’s We’ve Got Love, and Snoop Dogg & Pharell’s Let’s Get Blown.
