145 people were arrested on New Year’s Eve in Berlin.
All suspected New Year’s Eve rioters are free again. After the New Year’s Eve in Berlin, which got out of hand, the police are now publishing figures on those arrested.
There were numerous attacks on the police and fire brigade, and a total of 355 criminal and administrative offense proceedings were initiated. 145 people were provisionally arrested in connection with the riots. Most of them men, said a police spokesman on Tuesday evening.
More than 30 percent of those arrested are German
A total of 18 different nationalities were recorded. The German media said that it was mainly migrants. Around 30 percent of the 145 arrested are German chaotics. 45 people with German nationality were arrested.
45 of the suspects have German citizenship. This was followed by 27 suspects of Afghan nationality and 21 Syrians.
These facts are investigated
All suspects are now free. The number of those arrested was originally given as 159. There were double counts. The numbers are still provisional.

Among other things, investigations are currently being carried out into breach of the peace, attacking and resisting law enforcement officers and rescue workers, dangerous bodily harm and causing an explosive explosion. (eu)
