Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate were arrested in Romania. You are in custody.
Andrew Tate (36) has to share the bed with cockroaches, lice and bedbugs behind Swedish curtains – and complains about it. “They are trying to break me,” he writes in an email from the Romanian prison, writes “Daily Mail”. The former kickboxer and influencer is accused of rape and human trafficking.
He titled the e-mail: “Daily lessons from unjust imprisonment”. He denies wrongdoing. The self-proclaimed misogynist has a history of dating women as young as 18 and believes if women are raped, it’s their own fault.
“You’re trying to pour hatred into my heart,” Tate accused the cell guards. Sentimental words for a man spreading toxic masculinity.
“Just doing their job”
He then claims that the guards are actually behind him. They knew he was innocent, but they had to do their job because “they have families to feed,” the email said. Still, Tate feels he was arrested for his opinions, not his actual actions.
Tate sees himself as a man who tells the (misogynistic) truth – and that resonates with his followers. He has 4.7 million followers on Twitter. “The great revolutionaries of every generation suffer from unjust prison conditions,” it says in a tweet.
Accusation: Forced women to do porn
Tate must remain in custody until at least February 27. Prosecutors have accused Tate of luring women to his Bucharest estate with the intention of marrying them. There he is said to have held them “like prisoners” and forced them to shoot pornographic content with webcams.
Andrew Tate claims he is innocent. His attorney said: “We maintain that the Tate brothers are being arrested at this very moment for a crime of opinion, for what they said at some point on the internet and not for what they actually did in their private lives.” (jwg)
