Anyone who demonstrates against Putin gets marching orders

They take to the streets to show their opposition to Putin’s mobilization. Now, of all people, the demonstrators are being called up for military service.

Thousands of Russians demonstrated on Wednesday against Putin’s partial mobilization.

The announcement by Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin (69) that 300,000 reservists would be mobilized for the war against Ukraine caused an uproar in Russian cities. Tens of thousands of citizens demonstrated against Putin’s decision. Now it seems as if Putin wants to force these very demonstrators into military service for his purposes.

After hundreds of demonstrators were arrested, some of them are said to have received a call-up notice, writes the Reuters news agency. They are thus obliged to do military service for the Russian army. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov (54) stated that this procedure was not illegal.
