Alarm at Pristina Airport: Because of a bomb threat, people were taken outside.
Bomb threat at Pristina airport! As Blick reader reporter Tim R.* (25) reports on site, the “Adem Jashari” airport in the Kosovan capital had to be evacuated shortly after 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Shortly after St. Gallen and his friends landed, it was said that all passengers had to leave the building in an emergency.
“Suddenly everyone ran out in panic,” said reader Tim R. to Blick. When he asked a local police officer why, they said a bomb threat had been received. All roads are closed and the police and military are on duty. “We’ve been stuck here for almost two hours now.”
Passengers and employees brought to safety
The Swiss can well imagine that the incident is related to the current conflict between Serbia and Kosovo. “It’s strange that something like this is happening right now.”
The airport confirmed the incident to the “KALLXO.com” portal: “We received a bomb threat,” said spokeswoman Valentina Gara. Passengers and employees have been evacuated and are safe.
Worrying reports from the Western Balkans have piled up in recent weeks. Ever since Serbian military convoys rolled towards Kosovo at the beginning of December, the dispute between the parties has threatened to escalate. Only recently did Serbia put its army on high alert. (dzc)
