Children catch and kill over 600 rats

Students in New Zealand caught and killed 600 rats in 100 days. With this, the children want to protect the wildlife of their homeland.

In 100 days, 40 school children in New Zealand caught and killed more than 600 rats.

The Halfmoon Bay school on Stewart Island in New Zealand is teeming with little rat hunters. Children five years and older should catch and kill as many rodents as they can. Each child received their own trap made from recycled political posters.

40 students caught more than 600 rats within 100 days. Bella McRitchie-King (11) was able to catch 64 rodents and thus secured victory in the curious competition. Footage from the TV station 1News shows the children proudly holding their booty for the camera. Particularly large animals are also measured.
