Emergency solution for problem Afghans
Are the Germans deporting a child molester to Switzerland?
Germany had already deported a child molester from Afghanistan back to his homeland. But the man came back via Switzerland. Now the German authorities are faced with a dilemma.

Compared to Germany, Switzerland has a higher repatriation rate of rejected asylum seekers.
The deportation debate has flared up again in Germany. Again and again, asylum seekers become criminals. Last on Wednesday. Ibrahim A.* (33) pulled out a knife on a train in Schleswig-Holstein and killed a teenager († 17) and a young man († 19).
The Palestinian had previously committed criminal offenses again and again. The problem: Germany does not deport if there is a security risk for the person at home.
Now another case is causing a lot of discussion. It’s about an Afghan (35). He is in prison in Germany for abusing a boy (6) and a girl (8). He was deported to his home country once before. That was in February 2021, as “Bild” reports. So before the Taliban take power in the summer of 2021.
“Deported and back”: This is how the “Bild” reported on January 30, 2023.
The repatriation rate in Switzerland is 54 percent
But he didn’t stay there long. In December 2022 he is suddenly back. According to “Bild”, he is said to have come to Germany via Switzerland. Via tram from Basel to Weil am Rhein.
He was caught during a check and sent back to jail. He is now serving the remainder of his sentence. But he doesn’t have to stay behind bars much longer. It will be out again on February 13th. And could then live as a free man in Germany.
The problem: Germany does not make it to Afghanistan because of the Taliban. That’s why the Germans have another idea: they want to deport the child molester to Switzerland if possible. Unlike in Germany, the deportation of asylum seekers works better here. The repatriation rate in Switzerland is 54 percent. However, in order for this to happen, Switzerland must agree.
No deportation to Afghanistan
In Germany, this rate is “significantly lower,” admitted SPD Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (52) to Federal Councilor Karin Keller-Sutter (59) at a meeting in December. A nationwide number is not available because enforcement is a matter for the federal states. In the EU, the repatriation rate is 21 percent.
If the child molester is actually deported to Switzerland, he should stay for the time being. Since the Taliban took power, Switzerland has also stopped sending refugees to Afghanistan. (jmh)
