Embarrassing Putin propaganda
General brags about destroyed US tanks that aren’t there
In the situation report, the Russian lieutenant general proudly lists everything the Ukrainian army has destroyed. Including four Bradley tanks from the USA. Only: The Americans haven’t even sent the tanks yet.

A lie: because they haven’t even been delivered yet.
“The enemy lost 11 tanks, 17 military vehicles and four Bradyles from the USA,” said the Russian army spokesman, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov (56), proudly in his daily situation report video on Thursday.
But that can’t be true. The US has agreed a $2.8 billion arms package. Including 50 Bradley armored personnel carriers. But they were even sent to the Ukraine. Air Force Brigadier General Patrick Ryder announced Tuesday that the Bradleys would be delivered in the coming weeks.
Did Konashenkov simply make a mistake? Or, as is not uncommon in Russian propaganda, are facts presented here that do not correspond to reality?
If so, it’s probably Konashenkov’s second public hoax in a week. Only on Monday did he claim that the Russians had killed 600 Ukrainians in Krematorsk. Not even pro-Russian military bloggers believed him.
“Why are you playing stupid?”
In the Kremlin, too, the house blessing is now crooked. Just yesterday, Vice Prime Minister Denis Manturov (53) tried to make it clear to Putin that “investment projects” for Russian companies had already been started. Putin complained that this was taking far too long and that there were no contracts. “Why are you playing stupid?” President humiliated his subordinates in front of the camera.
Due to such dropouts, experts have repeatedly expressed the suspicion that Putin does not even know what is happening on the battlefield. Discouraging data should be withheld or whitewashed altogether. This could also have happened again in Konashenkov’s situation report. (jwg)
