US President Joe Biden is said to have struck gold when looking for a new chief of staff.

US President Joe Biden (80) reportedly wants to make his former corona adviser Jeff Zients (56) the new chief of staff in the presidential office. The 56-year-old advised Biden from January 2021 to April 2022 on how to deal with the corona pandemic. Among other things, he was responsible for the vaccination campaign in the USA. Zients is to succeed Chief of Staff Ron Klain (61), as reported by US media on Sunday. It had previously become known that the 61-year-old Klain wanted to give up the important post after two years.

Zients comes from the private sector, but already worked in important positions for the US government during the presidency of Barack Obama (61). As chief of staff, he assumes a central position in the government; he organizes the President’s day-to-day government and also takes care of his crisis management. After the appearance of secret documents in Biden’s private rooms, the Biden government is currently being heavily criticized for its information policy. (SDA)
