The Russian travel blogger Elena Banduro was on board the crashed plane.
“Off to Nepal,” she writes under her selfie. The Russian travel blogger Elena Banduro († 33) is visibly looking forward to her trip – she is pregnant and wants to visit her husband. The picture on her private Instagram profile should show her sitting on the plane, in the middle row. But only a short time later, the plane crashes over the Nepalese city of Pokhara.
This is how the British daily newspaper “Mirror” reports. According to the “Daily Mail”, Sonu Jaiswal († 29) was also in the unfortunate plane – he streamed the last few seconds before the crash live on Facebook, obviously in a good mood, with a view out of the window. His phone recorded to the end – even the flames from the burning plane can still be seen.

At least 69 people have died in the plane crash in Nepal on Sunday morning. According to Yeti Airlines officials, their bodies have been recovered. A total of 72 people were sitting in the plane – 68 passengers and four crew members. “The likelihood of anyone surviving is very low,” an airport official told CNN.
A loud explosion was heard
The flight was supposed to last half an hour, starting point was the Nepalese capital Kathmandu. Apparently, the last contact with the aircraft took place after about 20 minutes at 10:50 a.m. local time. Footage shows how the plane still flies a curve, but then loses more and more altitude and literally falls out of the sky on approach. A loud explosion can be heard.
The authorities exclude bad weather as the reason for the crash. According to officials from the Nepal Airport Authority, the crash was due to a technical error. «The pilot did his best not to hit any civilization or house. There was a small gap right next to the Seti River and the plane hit the ground right there,” a local resident told BBC TV. (twa)
