It is well known that the Russian armed forces act in the most brutal manner against the Ukrainians. Now the situation in the Russian military seems to be escalating completely. Because: Now apparently even their own soldiers are being killed.
At least five Russian soldiers who are currently in Ukrainian captivity claim that, as the “Mirror” reports. According to the young men, a Russian commander is said to be behind the atrocities. He is said to have personally shot several injured soldiers from his own ranks.
In a video interview with a Ukrainian journalist, the soldiers report on the terrible conditions on the war front.
“You could have helped them”
The commander asked an injured soldier if he could still walk. When he said no, he pulled out his gun and pulled the trigger. “Simply that way. A wounded soldier was lying on the ground and a battalion commander killed him,” says one of the soldiers. Not an isolated case! Something like that happened often. The young men report five such shootings.
The victims were not injured so badly that they would have died anyway. “They could have been helped, taken away from there.”
It is unclear exactly where the atrocities are said to have taken place. It is also not known to which unit the soldiers belong. The only thing that is clear is that the recordings were made when Ukraine asked Russia to collect its dead from the war zone – i.e. in mid-April.
It is unclear how many soldiers died in the war. Both Russia and Ukraine underestimate the number of their own victims and overestimate that of the enemy. According to Kiev, more than 25,000 Russian soldiers have been killed since Vladimir Putin (69) ordered the Ukraine invasion on February 24. According to the Kremlin, there are only 1,300 dead. (ced)
