A violent storm raged on the Italian holiday island of Ischia on Saturday night.
The Italian island of Ischia was hit by a violent storm on Saturday night. Around five in the morning, the heavy rains triggered a landslide in the Celario area. As Corriere della Sera writes, two houses were completely flooded and almost the entire region was without electricity.
A man was caught in a mudslide but luckily was rescued. Also missing are a couple with a newborn and another man. A mudslide also swept away several cars, which were washed into the sea in the area of the Piazzale dell’Ancora in the port along with the trees that were downed by the landslide. (chs)
