There was another gun attack in the United States. Two Persines were shot dead at a youth center in Iowa.
Another person who works at the center was seriously injured in the incident Monday (local time) in the city of Des Moines, local police officer Paul Parizek said.
Suspects in custody
Three suspects were arrested a short time later. It was a “targeted” and not a “random” act, said Parizek. He did not provide any information about the possible motive or the age of the victims and suspects.
The educational institution concerned is aimed in particular at young people who are struggling with difficult circumstances.
“All young people deserve a chance to grow beyond the circumstances into which they were born and to fulfill their spiritual, emotional, physical and economic potential,” the program’s website reads. This school in particular is there to help young people who need help the most, Parizek said.
Another case over the weekend
The United States has long struggled with gargantuan levels of gun violence. Fatal attacks of this magnitude are sadly normal in the United States. Just over the weekend, a gunman opened fire on the sidelines of a Chinese New Year celebration in the US state of California, killing eleven people. (SDA)
