Ukraine gets support from the West in the form of tanks.

The West is sending tanks to Ukraine. This is the result after weeks of negotiations and discussions. For example, Germany is supplying 14 Leopard 2 tanks and the USA is supplying 31 Abrams tanks. But that’s not enough.
Ukraine wants more. Among other things, water support is also needed. “We need warships to protect the coast, we have a very long coast. We would also need submarines to avert the danger of a new attack on the Black Sea coast,” said Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Melnyk (47) on Twitter.
He asked the Bundeswehr to hand over the recently decommissioned frigate Lübeck to the Ukrainian armed forces. Although the frigate is 32 years old, it could still help Ukraine fight Russian submarines and warships in the Black Sea, Melnyk said.

“Germany makes one of the best submarines in the world”
Among his wishes is also a special submarine. «As Consul General in Hamburg, I was on board U 212A at the Eckernförde naval base in 2008. Really huge!», writes Melnyk. At the time, an admiral told him that it only needed one such submarine to keep the Russian Black Sea fleet in check.

In another tweet, Melnyk becomes more specific. “Germany makes one of the best submarines in the world, the HDW class 212A. The Bundeswehr has 6 such submarines. Why not send one to Ukraine?” said the Deputy Foreign Minister. So the Russians could be driven out of the Black Sea.

Ukraine demands fighter jets
So far, however, the demands have not been met. Germany will not supply material for the Navy, said Deputy Government Spokeswoman Christiane Hoffmann (55) in Berlin.
Melnyk is undeterred by this and adds air support to his wish list. “A victory for Ukraine without a modern air force is hard to imagine,” Melnyk wrote on Twitter. “That’s why we urgently need Western fighter jets like the F-16 and F35 as well as the Eurofighter & Tornado.”
The German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (64) reacted with incomprehension. After the tank debate, there will be no combat aircraft debate. “Everything has now been said about it, including me,” Scholz said on Sunday on the sidelines of his visit to Chile, adding with an angry dig at Ukraine: “It is idiosyncratic that this debate is being held.”
Meanwhile, the CDU warned the Chancellor against categorically excluding such deliveries – this would play into the hands of Russia.
