«Vladimir Putin should look in the mirror»

Finland wants to join NATO as soon as possible. This was announced this week by President Sauli Niinistö (73) and Prime Minister Sanna Marin (36). A historic step for the country – Finland has been neutral since World War II. And a bitter blow for Vladimir Putin (69).

Many pundits believe that one of his goals in invading Ukraine was to divide the West. The opposite has happened, the NATO partners have been united against Russia from the beginning and now the military alliance is likely to become even stronger. And move even closer to the Russian borders. Before the war, the majority of Finns were still against joining NATO, but now the approval rating is between 75 and 80 percent.
